Núpar, a farm formerly called Gnúpar, where the settler Gnúpa–Bárður settled after having moved from Bárðardalur in the north across the interior through Vonarskarð and down to Fljótshverfi. The Sagas say that Bárður had each of his animals carry its own food across the desert.
