Sólheimajökull, a glacier tongue coming from the southwest of the glacier Mýrdalsjökull, is named for the farm. The spectacular surroundings of the glacier are marked by rugged and majestic rock formations thoroughly shaped by the glacier. This is an easy walk on crampons up onto the ice field where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses await your discovery.
