Blanda, 125 km, one of the longest glacial rivers in Iceland. It comes mainly from the western part of the Hofsjökull glacier, the uppermost sources being below the mountain Blágnípa. Close to the farms it flows through big, wild gorges known as Blöndugil. There are only two bridges on the Blanda, one at Blönduós, the other in the lower part of the Blöndudalur valley.
