Djúpá, (“Deep river”) a sizeable glacial river. A short walk along the eastern bank north of the bridge over the main road takes one to where the waterfall Gufufoss (“Steam falls”) tumbles over the edge of a deep and impressive canyon. Canyon and waterfall are spectacular.
