Gaukshöfði, a rocky bluff by the river Þjórsá near the mouth of the Þjórsárdalur valley. In the 19th century old bones and a spearhead were found, believed to have belonged to Gaukur Trandilsson, who was killed there. His home was at Stöng in Þjórsárdalur. Excellent viewing point, especially towards Hekla.
