Hnjótur, a farm and a remarkable museum of local objects. This memorial was erected in 1998 in remembrance of rescuers which have saved Icelandic and foreign seamen as well as the memory of those who could not be saved. All this has been the work of dedicated local man, Egill Ólafsson (1925–1999).
