Holt, a church and parsonage, fertile fields, earlier considered one of the wealthiest benefices in Iceland. Birthplace of Bishop Brynjólfur Sveinsson (1605–75). There is a monument to him. Sand–castle building competition have been held there during the first weekend in august.
