Skessugarður

Skessugarður, (“Giantess’ rampart”) an ancient end morrain lying at right angles across the Grjótgarðsháls ridge, just to the west of the mountain Sænautafell about 2 km south of the road. One of the most magnificent natural formations in Iceland, forming a 5 m high wall made of gigantic boulders of porphorytic basalt.
