Meyjarþúfa, (“Virgin’s knoll”) a small knoll with a staff on the top, between Harðbakur and the lake Hraunhafnarvatn, 200–300 m south of the road. According to legend the whole population of the Slétta area died of a plague, except for one woman in the eastern part and one man in the western part. They met up on Meyjarþúfa and laid the foundations for a new generation in the area.
