Straumsvík, site of an aluminium smelting plant, with a good harbour.
Located in the Kapella lava field, which is named for a chapel, the ruins of which are opposite the factory. In 1950 a small statue of St. Barbara was found there, indicating that the chapel dated from Catholic times.
